There are times when you have to see where life takes you. Take what's been done to you and grow from it. See how far it's gotten you. And see how far it'll take you. Live in the present, but also the past. And also the future.
So most people in the States know the story of Johnny Appleseed. Well, he was a real guy but the story is a little different than how we remember it. When people were first emigrating to the New World, if they wanted to own land, they had to show they were planting things. An investment in the land. So Johnny Appleseed (which isn’t his real name) planted seeds of apples to sell to these prospective land-owners.
The catch is this: each seed in an apple is its genetic make-up, so when you plant an appleseed, it will make a drastically different apple. Most of these apples were extremely bitter or too sour, but people weren’t growing apples to eat them.
During that time, the water was highly contaminated and carrying disease to everyone. Instead, people were drinking apple cider. For breakfast, for hydration, for everything.
Johnny Appleseed was bringing fucking liquor to the New World.
